Ratepayer/Windpool Mitigation Program

The Ratepayer and Wind Pool Mitigation Program helps utility and gas companies defray excessive costs associated with damaged infrastructure and providing emergency response services. In addition, this program also helps the Mississippi Windstorm Underwriting Association (MWUA – wind pool) offset insurance premium increases. Without the State’s grant program, all increased costs would eventually be passed on to the ratepayer resulting in additional utility and insurance costs to consumers.
